Intricate Structure Underlies Life

The Ocean Oracle, developed by marine biologist Michelle Hansen, is a new and different card deck which allows people to tap in to synchronicity through images of sea-shells and access messages from the Unseen.

Throughout history sea-shells have been regarded as treasure; gifts from the sea; mystical rewards from the ocean depths.
Holding a conch shell to the ear reveals the sound of the ocean humming gently within. This is a natural vibration, the cosmic energy of the earth that gets magnified when entering the conch shell.
Sea shells have played a part in religion and spirituality all over the world. Buddhists associate the sound of a conch shell with Buddha‘s melodious voice, and the conch is used in Tibetan Buddhism to call together religious assemblies. In India the sound of the conch shell is associated with the sacred syllable AUM: the first sound of creation. A creation myth from the Aztecs of South America tells of the feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl, who outwitted the lord of the underworld with a conch shell. In Korea, a conch shell is sounded for military fanfares, and in some Caribbean and African-American cemeteries conch shells are placed on graves.
Paintings of Venus, Roman goddess of love and fertility, often include a scallop shell.
In Christianity, the scallop shell is the symbol of Baptism, and depictions of them are frequently found on Baptismal fonts. The dish used by priests to pour water over catechumens in Baptism is often the shape of a scallop shell.
Sea shells are known to have been vessels for precious oils and medicines in the Indus Valley civilization more than 4,000 years ago, and in some Buddhist rituals they are receptacles for holy water.
The nautilus shell exemplifies Cosmic Geometry and the Fibonacci sequence of numbers. It is a linear spiral, and the area of the shell can be contained in a Golden proportioned rectangle; each chamber has 1.618 times more volume than the chamber preceding it. This unique architecture is in perfect synchronization with universal harmony.
Cowry shells, known as “money cowry” in some cultures, are considered to hold further value as fertility charms: the rounded shell top resembles a pregnant belly, and the underside resembles a vulva.
Sea-shell is the common name for the protective outer layer which is part of the body of a marine animal. A ‘shell’ might be from a marine mollusk; the molted shell of a crab or lobster; a barnacle; the endoskeleton of a sea urchin or sand dollar; or a tube created by a marine worm.
The Ocean Oracle deck features pictures of two hundred different sea-shells. Unusually, the pictures are visible to the person seeking wisdom. Whatever unknowable guidance makes one shell more appealing than another in a particular moment, no one is ever unable to choose. The cards deliver messages which are rooted within personal energy. The communication reflects deep knowledge and significant truth which has often been held outside of conscious awareness.
Synchronistic events point to the intricate structure that underlies each human life. A reading with the Ocean Oracle Deck can bring into focus some of the ways in which Spirit is at work with you.
