New Frames
Wayne Dyer once said "Change The Way You Look At Things And The Things You Look At Change"
Many fields use systems designed to help with this kind of change. Some are as all-encompassing as realigning a fearful worldview in order to fully participate in life, and others are very focussed, such as the habitual user of tobacco reframing self as a non-smoker to facilitate cessation.
When I was training as a Labyrinth Facilitator, Rev. Dr. Lauren Artress spoke of walking the lab...

Easy Path

Easy Path

Walter Savage Landor is remembered for saying “There is no easy path leading out of life, and few easy ones that lie within it.” As we move towards World Labyrinth Day, this is a point to ponder.

The first Saturday of May is always World Labyrinth Day, and this year that happens to be May First, overlapping with whatever merry-making this May Day can include.
May Day festivities are usually held on 1 May or the first Monday of May, and the current public health situation does no...

The Threes of March

Posted by Jo Leath on Saturday, March 20, 2021, In : Numerology
The Threes of March

As the third month of the year, March is a time when Three Energy can be called into ur individual lives. Three supports novelty and originality which allows us to be creative in whichever field we are working.
Three represents some of the activities of March, perhaps the most obvious being the three-leafed plants like clover and shamrock which decorate St Patrick’s Day on the seventeenth.
This March I have had additional Threes making themselves noticeable in my life.

All the Paths

All the Paths

Many paths lead up the mountain, but at the top we all look at the same bright moon. So wrote the Zen poet, Ikkyu Sojun.

I was recently working on my website, wondering what I need to do to make it more accessible to new visitors.
As I clicked through the many pages in the index, some current, and many archived from events past, I was a little amazed at the diversity of offerings.
I have been incredibly fortunate to have studied and learnt about so many aspect of the work that I...

Path. Walk. Change.

Posted by Jo Leath on Sunday, March 10, 2019, In : Labyrinths
Path. Walk. Change.

Labyrinths are spiritual tools which focus energy. When we walk them, our own energy fields are exposed to frequencies and vibrations that rarely touch us in other locations.
Walking a labyrinth can be a moving meditation. Slowly, and mindfully travelling the path allows for an open connexion to Spirit. Insights may flow, solutions to specific problems may suddenly seem obvious.
There are measurable physical effects from meditation and focussed contemplative...

The Path which Contains

  The Path which Contains

For anyone who believes, as I do, in the immortal and eternal nature of the Soul, it is logical to think of a lifetime as a finite event.
Each of us is living a physical experience which had a beginning and will have an end. All of our activities, relationships, learning and emotional responses will take place inside that enclosed event.
Each individual human physical life, then, is self contained.
When I was granted the new Numerology tool the Numb...

Exploring Again

Exploring Again
I am always happy to meet people who have questions about Numerology. In conversation I get another chance to refine my definitions, and do my best to make the information accessible.
I run into difficulties when I try to impart all the  learning I have accumulated over more than three decades, and distill it into three minutes.
It is simply impossible. It is also a motivating push to explore and explain some of the concepts that are most important. I am forever se...

Intentions and Expectations

  Intentions and Expectations

Reading an article by Michelle Missagieh this week, I came upon the idea of the three greatest human fears.
While the article had nothing whatsoever to do with Numerology, I recognized that the fears Missagieh was addressing are very real, and that working with a Numerology chart is one way to overcome them.

Celebrating The Path

Celebrating The Path

A labyrinth is a winding path that leads, always and inevitably, to a destination.
Labyrinths are used in many ways. They have been built into churches; incorporated into hospitals and office buildings; positioned in gardens and made small enough to sit on a table.
There are multiple approaches to engaging with a labyrinth, and just as there is no right way, it is really not possible to find a wrong way, although when a ritual is being conducted, it would be poss...

Celebrate Deepening

In 2012 I had the good fortune to be involved with the installation of a labyrinth in Wilmot, Nova Scotia, in Atlantic Canada.
The schedule was tight, and the weather was not ideal, nevertheless a dedicated team arrived to do the job.
When we arrived, we saw our raw material:

We set about planning the path with pegs and ropes.

Slowly we moved rocks from the pile into position.

and the pattern emerged.

Thanks to the hard work and loving care of Carol at Na...

Empathy for Empaths

Empathy for Empaths

This week I had a conversation in which I heard about a car accident which happened decades ago.

The story was told by a woman who had been a child in the back seat. She was alone with the driver when the vehicle hit an immovable object.
Thanks to surgeries and casts and braces and the wonders of modern medical science, they both survived.
I am fortunate to have no direct experience of an ...

Celebrating Empathy
One of the books which has had the most influence on my life in the last decade is Whole New Mind by Daniel H. Pink.
According to the website,Whole New Mind “reveals the six essential aptitudes on which professional success and personal fulfillment now depend”.
Those six skills include Empathy: going beyond logic and engaging emotion and intuition.
Psychology Today defines empathy as “the experience of understanding another person's condition from the...

Winding Along the Path

Winding Along the Path

The path of the labyrinth is a metaphor for the path through life. We move forward, believing we understand the location of our destination, and the path diverts us, turns us, sends us off on a detour. Continuing to walk, appreciating the new vistas and directions, we are enriched on our journey. Despite repeated deviations from expectation, the path always leads to the centre. Feelings of stress, worry or blame as we travel the roundabout way point to lessons we are...

The Intentional Path: where Numerology meets Labyrinth

The Intentional Path: where Numerology meets Labyrinth

One of my favourite Numerology tools is the Number Grid, and the uses I learnt from my teacher, Julia Line.
The grid sets out positions for the nine single digits, and allows a clear view of how the component parts of any individual date combine to reveal the energetic profile of that day.
Creating a Number Grid to experiment with is very simple: create a noughts-and-crosses or tic-tac-toe game frame. This is the design you a...

Numerology for The Conceptual Age

Numerology for The Conceptual Age

It is not news that I am fascinated and inspired by the Number Cycle and the elegant patterns of Numerology charts. I am also thrilled to have found the book by Daniel H. Pink, A Whole New Mind: Why Right-brainers Will Rule the Future. I have learnt a great deal from Pink’s writing, and I have come to see how very neatly his ideas fit into my Numerology practice in this Conceptual Age.
Pink names the historical periods of Western society, and the jo...

Thinking and Feeling with April’s Two vibration

One of the books that has been absorbed into my life is Daniel H Pink’s 2006 best-seller:  _A Whole New Mind: Why Right-brainers Will Rule the Future_.
In it, Pink describes how the West is moving out of an information-based society, and into a time of concept and conceptualization. Pink explains Six Senses which he sees as vital and inevitable for any success in the Conceptual Age. These senses should be practiced in all avenues of ...

Mapping the Moments that Matter

Mapping the Moments that Matter

This week I have been working on a leisure time project in which I was required to create a map of some time in my life; identify an important place on the map, and write the details of what happened there.
I have been spoilt for choice.
My parents were adventurers who did not stay in any one place for any length of time. As a child I lived in several towns, attended several schools, and enjoyed visiting many places and people in the United Kingdom...

This Valentine’s Day, Let Your Love Flow

Dear Human:  You’ve got it all wrong. You didn’t come here to master unconditional love. That is where you came from and where you’ll return. You came here to learn personal love. Universal love. Messy love. Sweaty love. Crazy love. Broken love. Whole love. Infused with divinity. Lived through the grace of stumbling. Demonstrated through the beauty ...

Many Loves, Many Miracles

Human life is an integration of many miracles.
The Human Experience offers sensations and encounters and understandings that cannot be derived in other ways. It is to be celebrated as a thoroughly desirable state which Spirit is eager to undergo. Our souls navigate the physical realm in order to learn and to grow.
People live in a narrow band of energy, unable to perceive the vast continuum, we learn the knowledge that there is more, and then we stop. T...

A grumpy old curmudgeon with the kindest of hearts

A grumpy old curmudgeon with the kindest of hearts

I have been fascinated by archaeology since I was a child, visiting the Roman Fort at Housesteads near my home, and learning about Howard Carter’s discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamen.
Archaeology is a wonderful metaphor for a lot of the work that I do: looking below the surface; synthesizing a whole from fragments and parts.
Perhaps it is this affinity that made me a fan of the television reality program Time Team, where a ...

Six Natural Senses

  Six Natural Senses

The Six Senses for the Conceptual Age are within us. They are ways of being and ways of seeing. Most of all, they are ways of knowing that are completely natural to us.
How is it, then, that this is new?
Why is this not how I have lived my life until now?
I was educated in the Age of Information.
